HiPath Wireless portfolio overview

The HiPath Wireless Portfolio is a centralized WLAN solution consisting of the HiPath Wireless Controller - which runs HiPath Wireless Convergence Software - and HiPath Wireless Access Points. HiPath Wireless Manager is a software-based management application for large wireless networks that also enables sophisticated mobile solution integration through a suite of open APIs and Advanced Services modules, including HiGuard and HiGuard Reporting.

HiPath Wireless Controller and Convergence Software

The HiPath Wireless Controller is a high-performance platform that manages the HiPath Wireless enterprise solution, making it easy to maintain or expand the network. The Controller aggregates and
coordinates access points and manages clients so the wireless LAN appears to users as individual, centrally managed IP subnets. A range of HiPath Wireless Controllers is available:

The HiPath Wireless Convergence Software resides on the Controller, and provides an intuitive web-based interface that makes it easy to manage the entire wireless network. Virtualized user segmentation allows unique quality of service, security, and application permissions to be centrally defined and pushed throughout the enterprise network. This not only simplifies network management, but also makes it easy to implement sophisticated Open Mobility Solutions across the wireless LAN.

HiPath Wireless Access Points

		The HiPath Wireless family of Access Points is enterprise-class 802.11a/b/g capable, providing coverage anywhere that wireless LAN (WLAN) service is required. Unique Plug-and-Play technology
dramatically simplifies deployment of the WLAN solution. All Access Points in the WLAN are virtually interconnected to the Controller, enabling centralized management and seamless overlay into any existing IP-based network infrastructure. All of this leads to greater management control and operational efficiency. There are two indoor models available, as well as the SCALANCE W access point for rugged outdoor and industrial environments.

HiPath Wireless Standalone Access Points

The HiPath Wireless Standalone Access Point brings enterprise grade WLAN capabilities to small businesses, with an ease of installation and management that eliminates the need for extensive on-site technical expertise. All WLAN functionality is contained within the Standalone Access Point, but businesses can integrate optiPoint WL2 phones and the HiPath 2000 to create a converged voice and data network.

HiPath Wireless Manager

HiPath Wireless Manager provides a full range of powerful-yet-intuitive management capabilities that make it easy to reduce the complexity and ongoing costs of managing the WLAN. HiPath Wireless Manager provides comprehensive multi-Controller management that allows administrators to maintain centralized control of large wireless networks. A comprehensive suite of tools are available to give a global view of the entire wireless network for trend analysis.

HiPath Wireless Manager's capabilities can be greatly extended through optional Advanced Services modules and partner solutions that integrate sophisticated mobile business processes and applications. The HiGuard module adds state-of-the-art wireless intrusion prevention, location and visualized performance optimization, while HiGuard Reporting provides an automated tool for testing the network's compliance with industry regulations.
